Microsoft has approved the integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into PowerToys app for Windows 10 and 11.
PowerToys is a program created by Microsoft that provides a set of utilities for power users to customise and enhance their Windows experience. Originally released for Windows 95, the program was popular in the 1990s but was eventually discontinued. However, in 2019, Microsoft revived PowerToys for Windows 10 and 11 with modern features and tools.
One of these features is PowerToys Run, which is primarily a keyboard-driven quick launcher. It allows users to quickly launch applications, folders, files, and even execute system commands, do simple calculations, convert units, and much more.
The ChatGPT plugin for Microsoft PowerToys Run will allow users to summon ChatGPT with a keyboard shortcut within the PowerToys Run UI dialog box. The plugin is currently a work in progress.
There are currently 19 PowerToys available, including PowerToys Run.
