OpenAI has revealed plans to introduce a new subscription tier called ChatGPT Business for ChatGPT. The new tier is specifically designed to cater to enterprise customers and professionals who require more control over their data and the ability to manage end users. OpenAI plans to make ChatGPT Business available in the coming months.
ChatGPT Business will follow OpenAI’s API data usage policies, which means that by default, end users’ data will not be used to train AI models.
OpenAI has also introduced a new feature for all ChatGPT users: the ability to disable chat history. Conversations with chat history disabled won’t be used to train OpenAI models or appear in the history sidebar. However, the data will be retained for 30 days and reviewed as needed for abuse monitoring.
Additionally, users can now export their ChatGPT data by requesting their data be sent as a file to their registered email address. These features are found under Settings.
These new features and the announcement of ChatGPT Business come as regulatory scrutiny increases over OpenAI’s data practices. Italy banned ChatGPT last month for potential privacy violations, alleging unlawful data processing and the lack of a system to prevent minors from accessing the service. France, Spain, and Germany have also initiated probes into OpenAI and its commercial services, focusing on ChatGPT’s adherence to GDPR regulations. The launch of ChatGPT Business aims to address some of these concerns by providing more data control to enterprise customers and professionals.
